As I mentioned in my last post, I love looking at other people's fall decor, but I don't particularly love decorating my house for fall. I love the season of fall and all the fall activities that go along with it, but I just wish decorating-wise we could skip right on to Christmas! I don't think my husband is quite ready to go cut down a tree yet though...so instead I walked around our property and down the road, into the woods to find some colorful leaves that were low enough to cut for the bedroom.
The empty space above the bed has always bugged me a little bit, so I stuck a branch above it. Someone predicted it would fall on his head while he was asleep the first night, and although I was kind of hoping it would, it has yet to happen. I used a few picture hangers and secured it quite well. Maybe too well...
I still haven't gotten around to putting together our other nightstand from IKEA, so we've got a mismatching thing going on right now:
As you can see, I also haven't gotten around to adding trim to this one:
This antique desk opposite the bed was my great great uncle's and the painting above it was my great uncle Bob's. The books are mostly from random book sales, but I think a few in this stack were Uncle Bob's:
